Scripta Sinica The aim of the Scripta Sinica database is to digitize all traditional documents essential to the research in Sinology. It contains almost all of the important Chinese classics, especially those related to Chinese history. Scripta Sinica is one of the few Chinese full text databases to encompass an enormous breadth of historical materials of this scale.
The Database of Basic Classical Texts The Database of Fundamental Classical Texts has carefully selected about 10,000 works dating from before the Qin Dynasty to the Republican Era from the over 100,000 extant classical texts. In addition to providing newly revised searchable full-text versions, the database also contains scanned images of one or two important versions of each text. It contains about 2.1 billion characters of digitized text and scans of 20 million pages. Users can also download and print.
The Grand Secretariat Archives Project Contains a variety documents from the Ming and Qing dynasties, including imperial decrees, memorials, documents from the Censorate, the Ministry of Justice, and the court of Judicial Review, histories, and census documents.

The Fu Ssu-nien Library’s Database of Taiwanese Historical Documents Contains a variety of documents from the legal and other activities of people in Taiwan including those for land sale, rental, and mortgage agreements, documents recording the division of inheritance, agreements with plains aborigines, common property for ancestor worship, clan genealogies, family register documents, writings of students of academies of classical learning, and judicial documents. (Access restricted to the library.)
Instructions for Downloading and Installing the Siku Quanshu Search Software After reading the explanation online, please install the search software. A shortcut for the Siku Quanshu (Wenyuange Edition) will appear on the user’s computer. (Access restricted to the Academia Sinica campus.)
The Eastern Texts Bibliographic Database (version 7.3) Contains indexes of scholarly research from China and East Asia. Please download Unicode if you experience problems displaying text.  Maintained by the Institute for Research in Humanities, Kyoto University.
The Soochow University Legal Research Index Indexes of law-related research, newspaper articles, and dissertations and theses. Also contains citations for mainland Chinese journals and theses.
The Chinese Knowledge Resources Database Contains key word-searchable full-text articles from five newspapers in the United Daily News Group from the last fifty years, including the United Daily News, Economic Daily News, Min Sheng Daily, United Evening News, and Xingbao.

Download Software for the Si Bu Cong Kan Si Bu Cong Kan was compiled by the famous author and publisher, Zhang Yuanji at the beginning of the 20th century.  He collected and organized texts in 477 categories, comprising 3,134 volumes with over 90 million characters.  The database is another landmark electronic publication following the Si Ku Quan Shu (Complete Library in Four Branches of Literature).  (Access restricted to the Academia Sinica campus.)

Web of Science Web of Science is an online database system created by the Institute for Scientific Information (USA) and contains three main citation indexes.  (Access restricted to the Academia Sinica campus.)
The Ren Da Citation Index Contains 520,000 citations for research from 1978-1997.  Requires ttslink for access.  For installation instructions see: How to Use CD-based Databases on Windows XP.  (Access restricted to the Academia Sinica campus.)
